CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AT CHCA

Chapel Hill Christian Academy has roots that date back much farther than 2001. In the early 1970’s, Pastor Levi Whisner took a stand in defense of Christian education in the state of Ohio. That three year battle ended up in the Ohio Supreme Court and was later won by Pastor Levi and their church’s Christian school in Bradford, Ohio.

Pastor Dan & Pastor Levi Whisner

In 1995, Pastor Levi’s son, Dan Whisner, founded Church at Chapel Hill in Mount Vernon. In 2001, CHCA began and has been impacting our community for over two decades. Through the majority of our school’s history, we were tremendously blessed by our two faithful, beloved teachers, Leanna Yingst (Pastor Levi’s daughter), and Rene Pozderac. Each family and student owe both of these ladies a debt of gratitude for their long tenure, sacrifice, and eternal investment in the lives of our children.

In 2018, Pastor Levi’s grandson, Jon Whisner, transitioned into his father’s role as senior pastor of our church. In this new season, the church has begun calling on the next generation of leaders in our church to continue carrying the baton that has been passed on to them. In 2020, Beth Trent became the lead teacher of our school, along with assistants, Kari Whisner & Kristin Hankins, by her side. We praise the Lord for our rich history and heritage, and for the opportunity we continue to have to train and influence young lives and families through Christian education.
